Halloween Fun at the Walled Gardens (October 2009)
The Walled Gardens of Cannington were the setting for some spooky but fun children's activities on Saturday. During the afternoon, children of all ages gathered in the gardens to take part in a Halloween Hunt for bats, witches hats and pumpkins.
Next it was on to Clifford Hall, within Cannington Court, where the children sat very quietly as they were told traditional spooky stories by professional storyteller Martin Maudsley.
Many of the children were transformed into pumpkins, witches and ghosts by face painters Ellie Elstob-Wardle and Laura Rugg who kindly gave their time free of charge - and prizes were given for the best Halloween fancy dress.
One of the parents said of the day "Absolutely fantastic time had by my daughter and all her friends on Saturday and a wonderful story teller. Very lucky with the weather too, gardens looking as lovely as ever.
With the Walled Gardens of Cannington being a wonderful location for a variety of events - look out for what else is going on throughout the year!
