Wisteria Festival & Horticulture Open Weekend (May 2010)

Locally made gifts for saleBridgwater College's Cannington Centre was a hive of activity at the weekend, when it opened its gates to visitors for its annual Wisteria Festival. Despite the unseasonably chilly temperatures and the odd rain shower, there was something for everyone with children's activities, garden tours, the chance to buy local produce and crafts, or relax to the jazz band entertainment and enjoy a cream tea.

The beautiful Wisteria in the Walled Gardens were in full flourish and people flocked to the plant shop to stock up for their own gardens. Chris Hill, Manager of the Walled Gardens said, "Despite the poor weather, we were pleased to welcome a high number of visitors to our gardens over the weekend. As well as enjoying the warmth and comfort of our tea rooms, many people grabbed themselves a bargain or two with our £1 plant clearance as well as our normal exceptionally good value, Cannington grown plant stock. It was lovely to see so many people coming back to buy their plants from us again this year."
